The Mejlis agreed to the Standards and Measures Bill at the first reading and referred it to the Ways and Means Committee. The bill puts Iradstandart, the State Agency for Standards, Metrology and Certification, on a statutory footing.

A motion of three deputies for the Nurzhan city constituency for a hearing on the capacity of the Governor to discharge his office was ruled out of order by the Speaker: "The chamber does not examine the health of citizens." No question was put. Points of order raised after the ruling are not entered in the record (Standing Order 12).
